2012 Ride for the Red
2012 Ride for the Red
The Largest Poker Run in Kansas
Thank you to these generous sponsors
Now in its eighth year, Ride for the Red wants to help more people than ever before. For our loyal participants, thank you for your support. For the newcomers, get ready for the largest poker run in Kansas!
When you Ride for the Red, you’ll be supporting a good cause. In 2011, nearly 800 Ride for the Red participants raised $68,000 to help families in south-central Kansas.
So get on your bikes and ride, because when you do, you’ll be helping one of America’s favorite charities at a time Wichitans need it most.
8 a.m. Arrive at the Red Cross
When you check in, you’ll instantly know we’re the real deal. Park in the bikers-only parking lot and mingle with hundreds of riders. Fill yourself with all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage to prepare for a day on the open road.
10 a.m. Poker Run
Ride for the Red knows what you want. Made by riders for riders, you’ll get out of town onto open byways in south-central Kansas. At poker stops along the 100-mile trip, you’ll arrive to shaded parks and recreation centers to stretch your legs where you’ll be treated like a VIP with free bottled water throughout the day as you work to build your winning poker hand.
The Prizes You Expect
Every year, Ride for the Red works hard to acquire the best prizes of any poker run, and 2012 is no different! When you finish your trip at Alefs Harley-Davidson, one lucky rider will walk away with the grand prize, a trip for two to Las Vegas!
Hall’s Angels VIP Club is Back

KEYN 103.7 and Don Hall are back again to recruit 103 Hall’s Angels. As a member of this special group, your $40 donation to the American Red Cross will buy more than you could find anywhere else. The Hall’s Angels package includes:
- • two poker hands (and two chances to win a trip to Las Vegas);
• a special Hall’s Angels shirt;
• an opportunity to win a Honda motorcycle;
• front-of-line service at breakfast;
• VIP parking
• opportunity to ride with Don Hall;
• and a bag of gift certificates and coupons.
For the civic-minded motorcyclist, you can’t afford to miss out on being a part of this special group.
Why You Should Ride
2011 was a record year for the American Red Cross locally. Just last year, we helped more people than ever recover from our most common disasters, fires. Thanks to your support, nearly 300 families were able to rebuild their lives after losing everything in house fires.
If you know someone who was laid off, ride to help families recover from an unexpected financial crisis. If you know someone who’s experienced a fire, ride to help replace their food, clothing and shelter. Click here to see how your donations helped a family recover from a fire.
